My office the past three days. With any luck I will finish this piece in 100 days and 200 rice crispy treats 😳😂

Looks like snake skin, feels divine, almost made its way into the trash can 😂 I’m so glad I stuck with it. Circular peyote stitch is so meditative once you can wrap your mind around (so punny 🤪) how it works. And this piece had me meditating for about 10 to 12 hours

Going through 2 and 1/2 months of bead weaving photos and keep seeing this pattern — loom beading on top of my work-in-progress quilt. It must make my subconscious feel like I’m staying focused and on track!? 😂
Beginning of November I went down a bead weaving rabbit hole. I have woven with beads 80 days in a row. I have taken every online bead weaving course I could find. I’ve worked diligently to learn the art of bead woven tapestry, making my own patterns, weaving probably 25 bracelet as I learned. Yet In Nov and Dec I felt like, Amanda you can’t post about this, you’ll look like you lost your focus… blah blah blah on and on.
Last week I had some kind of a textile epiphany about how really my focus, broken down, has always been on thread. Tapestry Bead weaving = thread + beads so that means I’m right on track. 😂
Now that I have the technique down I just ordered 100 tubes of beads to weave a photo I took. I expect I’ll see some fabric and yarn pop up in this project too. I’ve got the age old problem of too many ideas, not enough hours in the day. I wish I didn’t like to sleep so much☀️

Taking half my studio to the @quiltynook huddle gave me the perfect opportunity to reorganize my home studio. I’m so pumped 😍. It feels twice as big by just blocking one door and reimagining my ironing station. This room was built to be a baby nursery so it connects to our bedroom and is the sweetest little space. It’s like a warm nest for me 🤗 I’m feeling stupid lucky & nurtured today. ❤️🧵🪡🧶

See how my woven lady looks very presentable? Very demure, very mindful? It’s because her show with TAAC opens really soon!!
I will be in Wisconsin with my QUILTY nook friends for the opening night (October 11th from 4-8pm) but would sure love to see you at the closing reception, Saturday, October 19th from 4-6pm (add in a yummy dinner in Taos too?!)
