De La Luz is a collaboration between my daughter Lucie and I. While I had straight pieced and quilted for years, I had never pieced with shapes or bound and completed a blanket.
While I was pregnant with Lucie, I had this crazed urge to quilt and I seemed to instinctively have all the knowledge of this process I had never completed. This piece came together with no resistance, no tribulations; it felt as gentle and easy as flowing water.
The baby inside me was a quilter. She taught me so much about myself as I grew her in my body.
